Rachel Hunter was born September 9, 1969, in New Zealand. A model by age 17, the blue-eyed blonde quickly landed covers on magazines such as Vogue and Cosmopolitan. By 1994 Hunter had reached supermodel status through her work in print and on the runway. She began appearing in the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue and the accompanying videos. She was also featured as the "face of" Cover Girl, Estee Lauder, Revlon, and Pantene.
Hunter eventually made the transition to acting with appearances on series such as The Drew Carey Show and Suddenly Susan. In 2003 she was the judge on the reality program Are You Hot. The model has also made a few films, including A Walk in the Park (1999), Two Shades of Blue (2000), MacArthur Park (2001) and Rock Star (2001). In addition, Hunter has appeared in several music videos, such as 2003's "Stacey's Mom" (click to watch) by Fountains of Wayne.
An animal lover, the model set up the Rachel Hunter Gorilla Fund following a visit to the Ugandan rainforests. She has also been made an ambassador by the Born Free Foundation for her work with the animal welfare and conservation charity. When she was just 21, Hunter married rock star Rod Stewart, who was 45 at the time. The couple had two children before splitting in 1999.
