American model and television hostess Samantha Harris was born Samantha Harris Shapiro on Nov. 27, 1973, in Hopkins, Minnesota. She is a graduate of Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism in Evanston, Ill. Samantha had roles in the films "Reefer Madness," "George of the Jungle," and "Beautiful," and she landed the role of Mary Ann Johnson in the made-for-TV movie "Surviving Gilligan's Island." Her hosting duties include "E! News," "Extra," and "The Next Joe Millionaire." However, Samantha is best known for co-hosting "Dancing With The Stars." As a model she's appeared in Maxim, Self and Shape magazines and was a three-time cover girl for Muscle & Fitness. When she's not working, Samantha enjoys dancing, kickboxing, yoga and hiking, as well as participating in various charity events. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband Michael and their dog Barkley.
Broadcast journalist Samantha Harris emceed on such cable programs as E! News (in a triple threat as writer, producer, and director) and THS Investigates, and served as perennial hostess on the E! network's Oscar, Golden Globe, and Emmy telecasts.
