Marla Gibbs is most famous for her role as the sarcastic, wisecracking maid Florence Johnston on the television classic "The Jeffersons." Marla was born on June 14, 1931, in Chicago, Ill., where she was married at the age of 13 and had three children by the time she was 20. She also had starring roles on "227" and "The Hughleys." Marla owns a restaurant called Marla's Memory Lane Jazz Supper Club in Los Angeles.
